Oct. 26:

Sophisticated Ladies

It might sound like it’s a gathering of stuffy Manhattan socialites but the event is actually a “brash and brassy” musical revue tribute to the legendary jazz great Duke Ellington. It showcases the iconic artist’s works from his early years to his later life overseas. This Tony-awarded show features timeless hits such as Mood Indigo, It Don’t Mean a Thing, Black and Tan Fantasy, Take the ‘A’ Train, Satin Doll, and of course, Sophisticated Lady. Sophisticated Ladies starts at 8PM at the Broward Stage Door Theatre, 8036 W Sample Road, Coral Springs, 33065.

Oct. 27:

Spooky Symphony

This one is a treat for the kids! Enjoy the musical style of the Greater Miami Youth Symphony and the Alhambra Orchestra as they team up for a free family concert showcasing beautifully eerie orchestral melodies such as “Symphonie Fantastique”, “Totentanz,” and “Night on Bald Mountain”. The Spooky Symphony starts at 4PM at the Gusman Center for the Performing Arts, 174 E Flagler St Miami, 33131.
